Trophy dive at sea ranch no hub caps.

Saturday morning met up with fellow NCUH'ers mike bettencourt and joebob to do some trophy hunting. We met up at ocean cove about 9am Saturday morning and the place was packed they had a full sign at the front gate wow ! never seen it like that be for. Well we got all suited up and the boats launched and started are nice 18 mile ride north. The ocean had a small 3 to 4ft swell which made for a bumpy ride up but the weather was so good it made for a great boat ride. Once to Mike secrete spot we jumped in and started looking. After about 15 minutes of my mask leaking I decided to get out and try and fix it when all of a sudden snap broken mask !!!! Dam actually I said something else but not apporite to say on the board. so back in the boat for me. Joe and mike continued to dive for about another 30 min. Joe called it a day and got back in the boat and said he wanted to do some hook and line so I decided to borrow his mask and try my luck with mike. While Joe was out hook and lining it Mike and I dove for another 3hrs looking for the elusive bad boys to no luck though by the way the vis was 5 to 10 depending where you were. This was the first time mike has Ben skunked at this spot. well their is a first for everything right. well back in the boat and we all headed off to hook and line. By the way Mike and I took no Ab's due to no tens but Joe scored a real nice fatty 9 7/8. The whole way back we stopped at various spots and fished we ended up with 10 real nice blacks that weighed from 5 to 6 pounds. I am sure I am forgetting allot but gives you the general idea oh by the time we were off the water it was 5:30pm. At least we got the gills wet and dove an area that we will not be able to next year. On a side note it was amazing how many people were clueless to the upcoming mlpa closures which is very sad
