it sounds like you enjoy diving as much as i do. i cant find anyone who wants to go as often as me. i missed one weekend last year and im up to two this year. i read your post about nothing smaller than 9" and i liked your way of thinking, you get so much more meat out of a good sized ab than out of a legal one. this will be my second full season diving and im done with under 8's. i wanted to post some pics but they show up huge on here, how can i fix that? im kinda cumputer illiterate. we'll get out soon matt but hey im glad my report on the ever changing ocean was at least close. thanks for the update, brandon

great minds dive a like.

You are correct Brandon I dive at least once a week and it is the one thing that helps me keep my sanity in the crazzy time we are living in. you have my cell so give a shout any time you are going out on a sunday or monday.

Im jealous

I wish I had the time to dive as much as you too are capable of. I live in Concord, so getting out is kind of an all day thing. And with two kids and a fiancee who craves my attention,(although I'd rather be diving), it's kind of hard to get out more than twice a month. This is something I've been doing for 23 years now and my passion for it is still insane!! For a 33 year old, not too bad!!!

Always looking for a new dive buddy, you down?!

Hey Rob,

My gramps alway said, "Who needs a wife when your neighbor has one?" :-)

Looks on the bright side, at least Concord is an hour closer to the coast than Sacto is.

Try doing a day trip from

Try doing a day trip from Gilroy. Fort Ross Reef is a great place to camp. Get there early. The Fort is fun. Kids would like it. Also Pt. Arena Lighthouse along with the museum.

Solution: Bring the kids

Solution: Bring the kids and fiancee and have them carry your gear up and down the cliff for you! :-)

Seriously though, try Fort Ross. Its a beautiful place with lots of history and exhibits and I'm sure your family will love going there. While you dive, they can explore the place (which is huge) and hang out on the beach and in the forest. If you're really adventurous, you can spend the night at the Reef Campground and cook your freshly caught abs for dinner. It doesn't get much better than that!
