Monday morning dive at Horse shoe point.

met up this morning to take a buddy out for his for a ab dive and for some spearfishing. I met him and his cousin at Gerstle cove camp ground this morning about 7:30am. Upon arrival there was a nice wind blowing. So after a cup of coffee we headed out. I decided to take them to Horse shoe cove. Since it produces lots of good Ab's and is a good spot for rock pickers and divers of all levels. We arrived to horse shoe to pretty darn good conditions. We headed down the hill or should I say cliff. and put on the finishing pieces of gear and headed out. JD and I headed out to about 10 to 15ft while his cousin Jack stayed in shallower. Jack was animal and had his three Ab's in about ten minutes all of them about 8 to 8 1/2 inches, this he accomplished be for JD and even got even out to where we would anchor our floats. So JD and I started are dive, I kinda watched JD for a few moments and saw that he was way under waited, poor guy would get down about three feet and no matter how much he kicked he did not seam to move. I have to give him credit he continued to dive by pulling him self down the bull kelp and by pure determination. We dove for a good 2hrs looking around for some fish, I manged one decent black and a real nice perch, saw a couple of nice size Rock and kelp greenlings, but did not have a shot. At that point JD started to look for his Ab's on this day I was not going after any Ab's today it was about going out and showing some fellow diver from out of the area our wonderful coast, but with that Said I did shot those 2 fish. any way JD managed to score his limit of 3 all 8 to 8 1/2. forgot to mention we probably had a solid 8to10ft of vis. In all it was a great day with great people.
