bablone gauges
I would like to start by saying that all of us divers have the power to prolong abalone life and abundane. Most divers cary a limit size gaugewhich is 7" and thats not a bad thing......BUT......I personally carry a multi gauge which is 10" on one side and 8" on the other. We have the power to help the species by carrying larger gauges 8" and up. By taking larger Abs we let the smaller size Abs grow. I know everyone isn't a trophy diver and to be honest iI havent even gotten a 10" yet I also just my multi gauge this year. You can find larger gauges at your local dive shop yuo can make one or if you wanted i make them for a small price but i will not make any smaller than 8"..Just remember it is up to us to make sure that we can all dive for many years to come...

bigger gauges.
My wrost day diving is still better than my best day at work

forgot to add, But I am sure you all already know this but once you have detached a legal 7 inch ab you must keep no putting it back because you found a bigger one, "NO HIGH GRADING" and trust the DFG and state park rangers watch for that, Also It says in the regs that you must have a 7 inch measuring device in possion. I have heard of a few cases where divers was diving strickly with a nine inch gauge and the ranger sited them for that.
Bigger gauge's.

Great post, I like your thinking. Latley I have ben diveing with a 10 inch gauge and will continue to do so till it gets closer to the end of the season and then I will step down to a 9 inch gauge. I know bamboo reef and bodega bay pro dive sell a multi gauge that does 7,8,9, and 10.
I must have spelt abalone wrong..
bablone is wrong obviously my bad....
