Opening day dive.

Met up with a buddy of mine This morning at 7am at the Jenner store. We were treated to the usual Opening day water conditions "crap" the ocean was covered in white caps and the wind was a blowing so hard it was moving the truck as I drove down the road. So at that point we called the dive, and just bs a little bit before Mike headed home. Since I took the day off from work I figured I would make the best of it and drive up and check the coast out. On m way up ran into a couple other fellow ab hunters, high school buddies. We drove up and down the coast checking all the spots out befor we found one we liked which was windmeir point/Fort Ross store. We got suited up and got in. We had probably at best maybe 4 to 5 feet of vis and the surge was incredible. Saw lots and lots of 7 1/2 to 8 1/2 inch ab's every where but no 9's. We dove for about an hour with my buddy Joe taking one my other buddy taking his limit and I took none except for one urchin for some fresh uni on the beach. In all for me it was about getting in the water and getting re acclimated and water time. But it is nasty out there and only getting worse, On my way home saw the helicopter heading up and about 6 rangers and lifeguard vechile's with sirens on heading north. Hope no one was seriously hurt or killed which can happen very easly today out there. Well thats my report. I just hope the weekends forcast is worng.
