My two friends just came back from a magical weekend up at Sea Ranch from an ad they found on Craigslist. By going directly through the ad, they were able to secure a cute cottage overlooking the ocean and for cheap since the rentors were not having to pay another company to cut into their profits.
I would recommend Gualala, Sea Ranch, Anchor Bay or Fort Bragg.
