Thanks giving day dive on the sonoma coast.

I met up with a buddy of mine, Kris, this morning at 7 am in Monte Rio. We loaded up the gear and off we went. Once we arrived at Jenner we could see that once again we were being treated to great water. Like I said last time, the water was literally lapping and rippling on the beach at Goat Rock. At that point I decided to try a secret honey hole that a friend of mine told me about. We got to the spot and parked and loaded the gear for the long hike down the hill. It took us a good 30 minutes of a down hill hike until we reached the beach. Once we suited up and got in the water we had about 3 to 5 feet of visibility. We dove for a good 45 minutes and neither of us had seen an ab. So, by this point the two of us were getting a little disgruntled. We swam over to the floats and were debating about calling it. I said one more last dive and on the last dive, which was right under the float,but what did I find...a solid 9 1/4". So with that I made two more dives. On each of those dives I scored an ab, so three dives, three ab's. (9 1/4", 9 1/2", and 9 3/4") Kris ended up scoring his limit within the next few dives all of his ab's were 9 to 9 1/4". In all it was about an hour and a half dive and in about 10 to 15 ft of water. We kicked back in to change, pack, and tag the ab's not necessarily that order. Now was the fun part of hiking up the big ass hill with wet gear, weight belts, and three big abalone. It took us about an hour to hike back up to the truck. All in all another great day of diving on the Sonoma Coast.
