Ab diving 9-21-08 at Richardson cove.

Met up with Matt Bielen who is a fellow member of abalone diving.com at 7am at Ocean cove,To go do some ab diving off my zodiac. We arrived to nice clear skyies with a slight breaze and a small swell. made the usually B.S sesion with Dave the security guy at ocean cove for about 10 or 15 minutes. We then got suited up and headed out. I made the choice at that point to head up to Richardson cove due to a couple of reasons, 1-the swell was about 3 to 5 feet and was going to get larger, and that it was the frist time we have dove together and it being my buddies 4th time ever diving. The nice thing about richardsons cove is it allways lays calm and protected and the ab's are aboundent and out in the open and the best part is minmal to no kelp to deal with. It took us about 30 to 45 minutes to get their due to having to go uphill against the swell. Once we got their we anchored in about 20ft of water and starting hunting. I would say we only had about 2 to 4 feet of vis. We dove for about an hour or so. We ended up with our limits of nice fat ab's with the 2 bigest being 9 1/4 and 9 inches. My buddy was totally stooked on the dive. We then headed home, it was a nice fun and fast ride home all down hill with the swell. well that was our day on the water. Any time I get in and out safly is a good day especially if you get to come home with somthing to eat is a bonous.
