Hello fellow members, I was thinking it would be great to plan some sort of club trip to Ocean Cove Camp ground. I was wondering how many of you would be interested in do somthing like that, either a day trip or a camp out for the weekend what ever and when ever it would be feasable for all members interested. It was just a thought I had and it seams like it would be fun and a great time. To any one interested please feel free to contact me. Also if you have any ideas or sugestions please share.

Thanks for the push at it....

I'd love to see an annual event. Having little ones and living in Sacramento have made it harder and unfortunately things have been a little tough at work to try and get away. But I'd like to start planning something if not this year at least for next year. Camping reservations typically need to be made the first of the year. I believe there is over 100 members now, so I'm sure some of them would hopefully be up for a dive... A group dive might be a little big. It would be cool to do a AbaloneDiving.com Group Contest. Split off into dive group partners (say 3 people), equally distributed groups, and each member of the Group contributes their largest Abalone to get a collective weight of the three largest abs in the group and the group with the heaviest total weight wins. Then there could be a individual winner for the largest ab. Of course we'd have to give a deadline. Starting at 8AM to NOON for a time line.

A club camp out !

Like I said it sounds great to me and I think it would be lots of fun for the members and their famlies. just let me know what I can do to help. I know that Ocean cove has group camp sites that you can reserve and their standard camp sites are frist come frist serve. If I can assit in any way please let me know. I do know the owners of Ocean cove "Gary" so I could talk to them and arrange somthing when we are ready. I love the idea of a contest for big ab and most weight. Keep me in the loop. And dave feel free to e-mail me.
