AB diving on 5-3-08

Went out diving on Saturday the 3rd. Met my buddy joe who is a fellow member of abalone diving.com. We met at the Jenner store at 6am. We headed on up to Ocean Cove to launch his 16ft zodiac. We arrived at Ocean Cove about 6:45am to not so great conditions. There were white caps already apearing out ont the water. Then to make it even better we had to time the launching of the boat between sets. Well once we got out of the cove it was not so bad it was a long and fun ride north to Richardsons Cove. We pulled in and anchored in about 15ft of water. The vis was only about 3 to 5 feet at best. We swam around looking for about 2 hrs. We we got out we had 4 nice 9 inch abalone between us. The best being 9 5/8 and the smallest being the fatest and heavest 9 1/8 I have ever seen. I will post some pictures latter. Will we punched are wonderfully thought out report card and tags. and headed home. Man what a fun ride back in that 16ft ridge hull zodiac with a 50hp on the back man we got back in about 25 minutes in about half the time it took us to get there In all another great day on the watter. my moto is "My worst day diving is still better than my best day at work"
