Ocean Cove

Ocean Cove Campground is located on HWY 1 just south of Salt Point State Park. It is a private campground with very large campsites, lots of parking, a gas station, a store, a boat ramp, a very extensive fish cleaning station, and plenty of places to dive.

The nicest thing about this campground is that its basically for divers and lovers of the ocean. The fishing is great there and if you are ever bored, just stand by the fish gutting station near the boat ramp and strike up a conversation with anyone. Fisherman love to talk about themselves and their catch.

The campsites are huge; big enough for as many tents as you would want. The campsite has sites on a bluff, but i only recommend those if you have an RV because the wind gets going pretty strong and the fog will freeze you if all you have is a tent.

The town store sells all the knick knacks you would want for camping along with ab irons and ab floats for relatively the same price you would pay for one anywhere else.

I recommend this site if you are thinking of camping on the fly. Although it gets very busy, there are no reservations and i have never had a problem getting a site there.
