early morning am dive before work !
Submitted by matt mattison on Wed, 05/19/2010 - 21:58Well Talked the boss at work into letting me change my start time from 930 to 130pm so that I could get out and enjoy these stellar conditions we are having before there gone. Well met up with my buddy Jerry and his pal steve at 630 am. We headed out to one of our new area's we have ben working. Once to our spot we could tell the water had a little chop to it and surge due to the low tide and man was the water way out. Well we got suited up and entered the water to be treated with vis ranging from 1ft up to maybe 5 but that is decent for this spot.

Submitted by matt mattison on Mon, 05/17/2010 - 19:43Headed out to a place we will call the Rasberry patch (Don't ask I cant tell!!) today for some trophy diving. Conditions where ugly in this location but that's just how it goes. Jason my self and Julian and Stacy suited up and headed down. Once in the water we had about 1'-5' vis in pockets it was worse or better. Now for the harvest me and Julian both pulled 10" abs biggest being 10 3/16" congrats and big props to Julian with his first 10 and 2 in the same day Glad I could share the experiance.

Well We got their about 6am and headed down, We already new were going to have great conditions on lake Pacific but the great thing was we had a solid 20ft or more of vis in a area that on a good day has 5ft.

sonoma coast on sunday morning
Submitted by matt mattison on Tue, 06/09/2009 - 02:58Met up with a couple of my die hard dive budies to hit a honey hole of mine. We all met up in monte rio at 8:30 and headed on out. Once we made our way up out of jener we could see good old lake pacfic and it even had the blue color that the ocean should have. We got to the spot and geared up and kicked out we had a solid 10ft vis we dove for a good 2hrs looking for that elusive 10 inch ab but no luck. I ended up with a 9 5/8 and 9 1/2 my buddy dan ended up with a 9 15/16 and my buddy ron with a 9 1/4.

Diving by brail on the sonoma coast.
Submitted by matt mattison on Mon, 06/01/2009 - 02:11Met up today with some fellow divers Jason and his buddy Jerry and Dan Anderson for some trophy hunting. We all met up around 8am and headed out to the coast. Once we hit Jenner we could good old lake Pacific but you could tell right off the bat the Vi's was going to suck the whole ocean had a brown tint to it. We still proceed ed to the desired spot in question. Once their we grabbed our gear and begun our hike. Once we got to the watter edge we could tell it was going to be diving by Braille. We got suited up and headed out. Today we were trying a new area from which we normally dive.

Monday morning dive at Horse shoe point.
Submitted by matt mattison on Tue, 05/12/2009 - 14:55met up this morning to take a buddy out for his for a ab dive and for some spearfishing. I met him and his cousin at Gerstle cove camp ground this morning about 7:30am. Upon arrival there was a nice wind blowing. So after a cup of coffee we headed out. I decided to take them to Horse shoe cove. Since it produces lots of good Ab's and is a good spot for rock pickers and divers of all levels. We arrived to horse shoe to pretty darn good conditions. We headed down the hill or should I say cliff. and put on the finishing pieces of gear and headed out.

Early morning mothers day dive.
Submitted by matt mattison on Sun, 05/10/2009 - 21:53Met up with a buddy of mine Dan to do a dive. We met up at 7 am and headed out. Once we got to our spot we could see it was not going to easy. So we packed the gear up and headed down. Once we got in we could see we a wonderful 0 to 3ft vis with a steady 3 to 5ft swell constaily hitting us. We anchored up the floats in about 20 ft of water and started our dive. On my 3rd dive I found my trophy but at the time did not know it just thought it was a huge 9. Dan and I dove for a good 2 1/2hrs with the depths of our dives ranging from 17 to 23ft acording to dans dive watch.
